TKA SEEKING NEW PRESIDENT

The King’s Academy

SEYMOUR — The board of trustees of Harrison-Chilhowee Baptist Academy, doing business as The King’s Academy since 1993, invites resumes and recommendations for candidates to serve as president and headmaster of the boarding and day school located in Seymour.

The 140-year-old academy has been affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention since 1932.

Bryan Delius, a Sevierville attorney and vice chair of the board of trustees will chair the 13-member search committee which includes trustees, administrators, faculty, alumni and parents. Delius encourages submissions to be e-mailed by Jan. 15, 2021, to [email protected].

The academy president is the chief executive officer of the academy. This is a full-time, twelve-month position with responsibility for daily operations as well as visionary leadership for growth and development. A president’s home is provided on campus. The president reports to the board of trustees and serves as primary liaison between the academy and the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, news media, academy personnel, students, parents, alumni and donors.

The academy serves local students in grades K4 through 12 and boarding students in grades 7-12. More information about the academy may be found at www.thekingsacademy.net. Current enrollment is 412.

Preference will be given to candidates with advanced degrees and relevant experience in educational leadership, administration and international relations.
