LEADERS

Bobby Rushing was called as pastor, First Baptist Church, Gleason, effective Jan. 15.

First Baptist Church, Lafayette, called Waylon Eddings of Texas as senior pastor, effective Jan. 8.

Larry Fields, retired senior pastor, Central Baptist Church, Bearden, Knoxville, has been called as interim pastor, Smithwood Baptist Church, Knoxville. He served Central Baptist, Bearden, for 23 years. He also was interim pastor, First Baptist Church, Oak Ridge.

Andy King has been called as interim pastor, Fruitland Baptist Church, Humboldt.

Mike Kemper, retired director of missions, Lawrence County Baptist Association, based in Leoma, has been called as interim pastor, Smyrna Baptist Church, Humboldt.

Northside Baptist Church, Milan, has called Eric McLemore as pastor.

Center Baptist Church, Trenton, has called Joey Gowan as pastor.

Steven Dillard has resigned as pastor, Calvary Baptist Church, Humboldt.

Will Barnes, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Rossville, retired Jan. 1. He served the church for 17 years. He also was pastor, Tchulahoma Baptist Church, Memphis; Second Baptist Church, Millington; and Rossville Baptist Church, Rossville. Barnes served as a Baptist pastor for 44 years.

Nathan Holloway recently resigned as interim pastor, Five Points Missionary Baptist Church, Five Points.

Beech Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg, called David Gallaher as pastor, effective Jan. 4.

Jonathan Hardison has been called as pastor, Walnut Grove Baptist Church, Dover.

Len Kennedy was honored on Jan. 22 on his 40th anniversary of service to Woodland Baptist Church, Jackson, as minister of music.

New Salem Baptist Association, based in Carthage, will hold an Evangelism Conference featuring Roc Collins, new evangelism director for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. Nashville Baptist Association, based in Nashville, and the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board will offer “Deacons, Pastors, and Church Staff, Partners in the Harvest” on Saturday, Feb. 18.   • The 16th annual Christmas ministry event held by Silver Point Baptist Church, Silver Point, drew about 250 people. The participants received children’s shoes, food boxes, refreshments, and photos taken with Santa. Also a prayer room was offered. Some of the children who returned this year were wearing the shoes they received last year, reported Tony Crow, pastor.
