DEATHS

Garry Curtis Cornett, of Walland, died March 5, 2026. He was 67. He was a devoted pastor of Louisville First Baptist Church and loved the Lord and was ready to meet his loving Savior. He was preceded in death by wife Jeannie Cornett. He left behind daughters by love, Jessica (Sam) Wear, Nolanda (Chase) Richards, Abbie Burchfield; sister-in-law Wanda (Nolan) Richards; brothers-in-law, Randy (Peggy), Gary (Tammy) Brewer and Glenn Claypool; niece, Lexi; nephew, Ryker.

Janette Whitehead died March 16, 2026, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Rev. Beecher Whitehead and parents, Joel and Mary Payne. Her husband was the pastor of Happy Valley for many years. Janette is survived by her daughters, Belinda Wilcox and Pam (Frank) Daniel; grandchildren, Sacha (Bobby) Bonilla, Erica (Steven) Rogers, Kayla (Russ) Warren, Tessa (Ken) Betz, Katie (Jake) Hutsell, and Beecher Daniel; great-grandchildren, Lyla Tharp, Connor Purciful, Maverick Rogers, Parker Rogers, Jordan Rogers, and Tucker Warren. Memorial contributions may be made to Happy Valley Missionary Baptist Church, C/O Belinda Wilcox, 6441 Happy Valley Rd., Tallassee, Tenn. 37878.

EVENTS

Robertsville Baptist Church, Oak Ridge, will be hosting their 80th anniversary celebration on May 17, starting with a coffee fellowship at 9:30 a.m. and a lunch at 12:15.
