OWEN HONORED

Barbara Owen, who served on the staff of the Tennessee Baptist Convention for nearly 32 years in a variety of positions including coordinator of public relations and later public relations specialist, was honored April 14 by the Baptist Communicators Association.

Owen was granted lifetime membership in the organization. She was a member of the organization when it was known as the Baptist Public Relations Association. In 1984-85 Owen was elected as BPRA’s first administrative coordinator, a position she held until the organization voted to employ a paid director.
