FRANKLIN — Tennessee Baptist disaster relief volunteers are needed in Dyer and Obien Counties after recent storms caused catastrophic flooding in those areas.
Wes Jones, disaster relief specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, has issued an immediate call-out for all available flood recovery teams and volunteers.
Jones noted that more than 60 work orders have been received — with more expected.
“We urgently need DR teams with chaplains for a number of weeks to assist in cleanup efforts,” Jones said.
Those who are able to assemble a flood recovery team should email Jones ([email protected]) and Elizabeth Holmes [email protected] with the dates of their availability. Teams can come as early as next week, Jones said.
An Incident Command (IC) post and DR housing are set up at Finley Baptist Church in Finley. Teams driving in and out can pick up work orders at this location, Jones said.
The Incident Command contact is Karen Wilson.
