BROWNSVILLE BAPTIST CELEBRATES 200TH BIRTHDAY WITH REVIVAL

BROWNSVILLE — Brownsville Baptist Church turned its celebration into a collaboration.  Rather than throwing a party to honor the church’s 200th birthday, Brownsville Baptist hosted a four-night revival that shined the spotlight on teamwork, unity and cooperation. The revival featured several church planters from the area.  Ben Cowell, senior pastor at Brownsville, said it was the most fitting way to recognize the church’s historic milestone.

FLOOD RECOVERY TEAMS NEEDED IN WEST TENN.

FRANKLIN — Tennessee Baptist disaster relief volunteers are needed in Dyer and Obien Counties after recent storms caused catastrophic flooding in those areas. Wes Jones, disaster relief specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board, has issued an immediate call-out for all available  flood recovery teams and volunteers.  Jones noted that more than 60 work orders have been received — with more expected.
