LEAVELL TO BE NOMINATED AS TBC PRESIDENT

Baptist and Reflector MILLINGTON — David  Leavell will be nominated as president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention during the Summit, scheduled for Nov. 12-15 at First Baptist Church, Hendersonville. Charles Fowler, pastor of Germantown Baptist Church, Germantown, recently announced plans to nominate Leavell, pastor of First Baptist Church, Millington. Fowler described Leavell as an “excellent preacher and evangelist” who “loves our denomination.”

DR TEAMS HELP FLOOD VICTIMS, OTHERS

Baptist and Reflector BRENTWOOD — Tennessee Baptists are being asked to join other Southern Baptist disaster relief volunteers in helping flood victims in Missouri and Arkansas and they have responded, said Wes Jones, disaster relief specialist for the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. The Midwest has been slammed by severe flooding, CNN reported. Floods have killed five people in Missouri and seven in Arkansas, the news service added.

NEW CHURCH SUPPORT CENTER SET TO OPEN
