Union news office JACKSON — David Blackstock, Union University’s athletic director for 34 years and women’s basketball coach for 18 years, died Nov. 1 at age 75 after a lengthy illness. WW II VETERAN STILL PREACHING GOD’S WORD

The 18-year-old had joined the Army and was in basic training when he received word he had been granted a discharge. TBC CP GIFTS FALL SHORT OF BUDGET GOAL

Baptist and Reflector FRANKLIN — Tennessee Baptist Convention churches gave $2,719,942 through the Cooperative Program in October. For the 2016-17 fiscal year Tennessee Baptists provided $33,859,359 through the Cooperative Program giving channel to meet ministry and missions needs in the state, nationally, and around the world.
