FOUR BIG DEALS AT SUMMIT

We are just days away from one of my favorite times of the year. No, not Thanksgiving, although that is one of my favorites. I’m talking about Summit, the annual gathering of Tennessee Baptists.  For me, it is truly like a big family reunion where we get to see friends from across the state and can visit, laugh, worship, pray and conduct business related to the Great Commission tasks God

MCCLUSKEYS SET STANDARD FOR LONGEVITY

KNOXVILLE — When Jay McCluskey celebrated his 37th anniversary as pastor of North Cleveland Baptist Church, Cleveland, in September, it was a major achievement for him personally. Though he acknowledged that crossing the “37th year milestone does not merit the notoriety of other major anniversaries” it did have special meaning for him. Jay McCluskey finally caught up with his dad — longtime pastor and former Tennessee Baptist Convention president Jim

We have diligently evaluated the things we are living for. Throughout this

Holly had a tiny Superman logo printed specifically for Carter. “I stuck it on the back of his helmet, and only his,” Holly said. “And I said, ‘You’re Superman.’ He was just that good.” Rangers fans are starting

A CHRISTIAN RESPONSE TO TRAGEDY

Editor’s Note: With the focus on Israel, following the bombing attack by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, I am yielding my space to Jeff Iorg who has written an excellent and concise summary of how Christians should respond to this situation in the Middle East. Continue to pray for Israel and for those who will be ministering in the country. Tennessee Baptists, along with Southern Baptists across the country, are
