CHURCHES
Fall Creek Baptist Church, Norene, will celebrate 200 years of proclaiming the gospel on Sunday, May 1, at 10 a.m. with Dave Shelley, director of missions for the Wilson County Baptist Association, delivering the anniversary sermon. The church was organized at the Copelands Meeting House in southeastern Wilson County on the first Saturday in May, 1822 with 21 constituent members. A fellowship meal and a time of remembrance featuring former pastors and leaders of the church will follow the service, according to Pastor James Yates. The public is invited.
LEADERS
Two Tennessee Baptists were among the 68 Southern Baptists appointed by Southern Baptist Convention President Ed Litton to serve on the 2022 SBC Committee on Committees. They are Keiron Miles, Forest Hills Baptist Church, Nashville, and Jonathan Morton, Belle Aire Baptist Church, Murfreesboro. The Committee on Committees is tasked with nominating members to serve on the 2022-2023 Committee on Nominations and will meet prior to the June 14-15, 2022 SBC annual meeting in Anaheim, Calif., to prepare its report to the convention.
Todd Ozment recently resigned as pastor of First Baptist Church, Iron City, to accept the pastorate of Fellowship Baptist Church, Allons.
Sheila Jones recently retired as the secretary of First Baptist Church, Lawrenceburg.
McMahan Calvary Baptist Church, Athens, recently called Ricky Vaughn as pastor.
First Baptist Church, Macon, recently called Jerry Boylan as interim pastor.
First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, called Mickey Brackin as pastor on March 20.
