DEATHS

Eleanor B. Yarborough, former director of communications for the Executive Board of the Tennessee Baptist Convention (now Tennessee Baptist Mission Board), died Oct. 27 at the age of 82. Yarborough, an active member of First Baptist Church, Nashville, served on staff for more than 20 years in other capacities. She retired in 2002. Yarborough is survived by her husband, Larry, two children and five grandchildren.

Longtime Tennessee Baptist pastor Harry “Raymond” Langlois Jr. died Oct. 25 at the age of 96. He served as pastor of Judson Baptist Church, Nashville, from 1971 until 1993 and, after retirement, fulfilled numerous interim pastorates throughout the South. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Langlois, two sons, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Riverside Baptist Association held its annual meeting at Fellowship Baptist Church in Allons. Beacon Baptist Church, Cleveland, recently honored Floyd Boggess for 62 years of ministry upon his retirement from the church where he served for the past 19 years. Boggess, now pastor emeritus, was licensed to preach at First Baptist Church, Athens, in 1964 and was ordained into the ministry two years later. He was called as pastor of his first church (Eastview Baptist in Georgetown) in 1970 where he served for seven years. He served as pastor of several churches in the area before accepting the call to Beacon Baptist in 2006.
